Join us for our first annual Flag City Classic in Findlay, Ohio! During the weekend, teams can enjoy great comradery at the rink and a host of local restaurants and bars in downtown Findlay.
Games will be played at The Cube.
Tournament Details and Rules
- Divisions of 21+, 40+, 50+, 60+, and rec (local teams)
- 3 to 4 teams per division
- 3 games guaranteed, 4 games maximum
- 3x12 minute stop time periods
- Souvenirs and Championship Trophy
- Tournament t-shirts
- USA Hockey referees
- Goalies can be 5 years younger than the designated age
- We highly recommended that you wear a cage or half shield
- No checking. If you clearly body check another player, your team will be penalized and you are out for the remainder of that game.
- Slapshots are allowed
- 2 minute warmup (be on time)
- 30 seconds between periods
- No timeouts
- No subs
- Blueline icing
- In any game, once you are down by 6 goals we are running the clock. If you score and it goes to 5 goal differential, then we go back to stop time.
- In a goals for and against tie breaker we don’t use more than 4 goals differential.
- 3 Penalties in the same game and you are out for the remainder of that game
- If you are assessed a major penalty, including fighting, you are penalized and are out for the remainder of the tournament
- Each team gets 2 points for a win
- Each team gets 1 point for a tie
- If teams are tied after round robin play, we will determine positions by:
- Head to head
- Penalty infractions
- Goals for and against
- Coin flip
- If there is a tie in final game after regulation play, we will play a 4x4 sudden death overtime for 2 minutes
- If the teams are tied after the 4x4 sudden death, we will go to a 3 man shoot out. If no one scores, the teams will continue to take turns until someone scores using a different player.
- 3 Team Division plays 2 game round robin, semi-final, and championship game
- 4 Team Division plays 3 game round robin with top two teams playing in championship game

Rec Division Rules
- Divisions: Rec A and Rec B
- These divisions are specifically for players in the Findlay Adult Hockey League
- Rec A: Min player rating is 4.5 and max player rating is 8
- Rec B: Min player rating is 1 and max player rating is 4.5
- Teams will be determined through a draft
- Draft party on August 27 starting at 5pm (see flyer below)
- Cost: $115 for skaters, $100 for goalies
- Registration deadline is August 20

Tournament Fee
All payments are in US funds. Team Managers are responsible to make these payments and asked to forward the registration link to their team members. Team deposits of $750 are due by August 15, 2022. Final payments are due by September 1, 2022. Payments may be made via credit card by calling (239) 462-2943 or sending a check to:

Tournament Registration
Each player will need to fill out a registration form. Use the Register Now link below to register yourself for the tournament. Make sure you know your team name prior to registering so that we can assign you to the correct team. All players must be registered by August 20.
